Health and Safety Workshop 07.06.17

Are you rattled by risk assessment, confused by compliance and haunted by health and safety? Or maybe you are just wondering what you don’t know that you don’t know about health and safety?

If so, this fun (yes fun!) informative and interactive workshop is just the thing for you, exploring what we need to know, why it’s important and why we sometimes get it wrong too.

Like people, every business is individual, but there are core aspects of health and safety law and responsibilities for employers and employees, that apply to all businesses.

Why? Getting hurt at work or becoming ill through work is not a pleasant subject to think about, but the reality is that 142 people last year lost their lives at work in Britain. In addition, around 621,000  non-fatal injuries were reported, and an estimated 1.2 million suffer from ill health caused or made worse by work.

“That will never happen to me” - The mistake is to believe that these things happen in highly unusual or exceptional circumstances that never occur in your workplace. This is not the case. Some basic thinking and acting beforehand could usually have prevented these things from happening.

Implementing health and safety measures doesn’t have to be expensive, time consuming or complicated. In fact, safer and more efficient working practices can often save money but, more importantly, they can help to save lives.

If this sounds like something you, or someone in your business, would like to attend, then please book your place with either Hannah - or Rhonda - You can also call 01865 893 200 to reserve your slot.

Lastly, we thought you'd like to know a little bit about Alison, the lovely lady who will be giving the talk and who is also known as The Safety Elf. Here's some background on Alison in her own words – I created The Safety Elf when I broke free from the corporate world so that I could share my passion and knowledge of health and safety in the way I believed would really make a difference. Do you think health and safety is all about paperwork and just ticking boxes? I think it is all about PEOPLE – truly putting people’s physical and mental health, safety and wellbeing at the heart of your business.
